On the obverse of the medal, against the background of divergent rays, there is a convex inscription "USSR", a relief image of a laurel branch, a sickle and a hammer. At the bottom of the medal around the circumference on the contour image of the ribbon is the inscription "VETERAN OF LABOR". The obverse of the medal is oxidized. On the reverse side of the medal on a matte light background in four lines there is an embossed inscription "FOR LONG-TERM HONEST WORK". The edges of the medal are bordered with piping. The medal is connected by an eyelet and a ring with a pentagonal block covered with a silk moiré ribbon 24 mm wide with one dark gray longitudinal stripe, one light gray stripe and three narrow alternating longitudinal white and red stripes. The dark gray stripe is 7 mm wide and the light gray stripe is 8 mm wide. The edges of the ribbon are edged with narrow white stripes.
